Hanging Gardens of Lillafüred, Miskolc
At the foot of the ancient castle-hotel, built in the Neo-Renaissance style, on the shores of the picturesque Hamori Lake in Lillafüred, are situated rocky terraces, also called Hanging gardens. Picturesque alleys, stone steps and beautiful flower beds adorn the garden. All this is located in the territory of the Bükk National Park, and it is also a part of the park area of the hotel "Palota".
The entrance to the Hanging gardens of Lillafüred is free. In addition to flower arrangements, benches, romantic lanterns and Lake Hamori, there are other attractions:
- Szinva Waterfall, (by the way it is the highest one in Hungary).
- Monument to Otto Herman, Hungarian ethnographer.
- Monument to Attila József, Hungarian poet.
- Hamor rock, which is loved by climbers. It is located at the entrance to the castle.
- Anna Cave.
Also within walking distance from the gardens there is the station of the tourist narrow-gauge railway, which can take you, for example, to the Trout farm.
How to get there
To the Hanging Gardens and the hotel you can take bus number 5. In addition, you can get there from the Diosgyor district by a narrow-gauge railway. To the area of Diosgyor from the center of Miskolc goes tram number 1. By the way, Lillafüred is one of the districts of Miskolc.
