Visegrad Castle, Salamon Tower

Visegrad castle located in the town of Visegrad, which is located in the central part of Hungary. 

 

The fortress was built in the 13th century. For 14 - 16 centuries palace located next to it, served as a summer royal residence of Hungarian kings. In the 18th century the castle was badly damaged during the attacks of the enemy troops Habsburgs. Up to now been fully preserved and practically did not change its original appearance only Solomon's Tower. According to an ancient legend, it is in it serving a sentence cruel ruler of Wallachia, Vlad the Impaler. 

 

Given that the Visegrad castle built on a hill to get to it will have to walk up the steep slopes. From Budapest to Visegrad regularly scheduled buses.
